SHANGRI-LA MUSTANGS

We have a new family member. Winona was born on June 16th. Our herd consists of all 2 1/2 year olds with the exception of baby Winona and Sir Donnelly, our senior member. All are in excellent health. We prefer to supplement their feed with fruits and vegetables. (They love apples, oranges and savor watermellon). The herd is all halter trained in a gentle fashion -- when they are ready. We move forward at their pace so that there experience with humans is all positive.

Baby likes to hang out with the king of the herd, Sir Donnelly, an appendix quarter horse. Due to coyotes, we introduced mom and baby back to the herd as soon as possible, for their protection. Instantly, she was the sweatheart of the herd.

It's been a totally different experience watching how the herd takes equal time watching over Winona and disciplining her if necessary.

To the right is Elu and Idaho standing near mom and baby, and Keokuk is on the far side.

Wasatch is the proud mother, seen in the background and below. Surprisingly, she is tended by the entire herd.

Sir Donnelly, our only domestic horse, is keeps Winona in line. Also, shown is Chenoa.

Keokuk, the chestnut, is always at her side, or near by, and Lakota is her playmate.

If your desire is for a life-time partner, one that has been spoiled, one that likes hot grub for dinner, please contact us at Shangri-la, and you're welcome to visit us at our ranch located in northern Colorado near the Wyoming border.
